Epson New Refill Tips:
Last update 07/22/2003
With the release of the new Epson printers, Epson has
added a special lock out chip to their cartridges to stop any refilling.
We now have a chip reprogrammer to reset the chips. They have added an additional
feature to their cartridges a pop it valve to the bottom of the jet
port. This valve makes refilling of the Epson cartridge a snap.
After refilling there will be no ink leaking out the bottom of the jet
ports. We highly recommend that you refill these cartridges.

Shown in the photo is the bottom of a new Epson
cartridge. Notice the chip on the front of the cartridge. These chip
cartridges have a " Pop It Valve " to close off the jet holes.
When the cartridge is removed no ink will leak out. |
Just about every compatible Epson cartridge on the market is produced
in China. We buy our cartridges from an ISO certified factory. Does this
mean that every cartridge will be perfect? No. I would rather refill an
original Epson cartridge then use any compatible cartridge. Why, because
I know our ink is an exact match. Sometimes the compatibles are
not.
Problem: After refilling or installing a
new cartridge. You run a nozzle check and find out that there are breaks in the
test sheet.
Fix: If after you have cleaned the
nozzles at least three times and the breaks still appear on the test sheet. Try
an alignment
of the cartridge. I have found that after installing a new cartridge or after
refilling I run the alignment and most of the time this will fix any breaks in the
test pattern..
I think Epson makes one of the best printers for printing photographs. The
only down side is that they will clog if not used every day. Refilling and reprogramming the
chip will save you a lot of money if you own any of these printers.
Best By For Photos is the New Canon
i850, i950 and i9100
Simple and easy to use and you and you don't have to take out a loan on you
house. I tell people that you can refill these cartridges with one eye closed
and one hand tied behind your back.
